    Idiocracy...yes...yes.

I bought a 3rd gen...Tundra. Then I decided to get the Platinum edition. Then within a month I put Kings all the way around with TC UCA's...and added the supercharger. But alas, I'm just some poor person.

Exactly, what do you know about purchasing high price vehicles? If it's not a Tacoma then it's cheap and affordable right?

Lmao. Last time I checked, a Platinum Tundra runs for well over what a Tacoma costs. Then factor in all that awesome stuff you put on it.

Every new car has its problems, even cars that have been in production for awhile have problems, just the nature of the beast. I work for brand H (korea) and see a shit load of recalls all the time on new and old platforms. from what I've seen on here, I don't think any of these problems are major at all. Most of which can be taken care of in one, maybe two visits to the dealer (kinda have to, to avoid lemon law and buy backs). They will probably have an update for gear hunting, and lack of power very soon, if not already. If they are ANYTHING like my brand, they will have updates for concerns most toyota techs haven't even seen yet.

Bunch of? So you take the comments from a couple and apply it to "bunch of"? There's more than "these guys" who need to watch the movie.

The stupidity of 3rd gen owners equals the stupidity of 1st/2nd gen owners. My first Toyota was a brand new '85 SR5 long-bed pick-up. Since then I've had a string of Toyota trucks over the last 20+ years. I now have a 3rd gen SR5. Do I claim a "gen"? Nope, but it's funny folks claiming such like it actually means something. "We vs. you mentality". We're all Toyota owners equally. None of us know shit about each other, where we've been, how old we are or the experiences we've have throughout the years. It's too bad the internet enables the dipshits in real life play the cool guy card on forums. Such is sad.

Back to helping elitist 3rd gen owners on the forums..carry on..

the first 3 things listed could all be fixed if/when Toyota pushes an ETC code update. I heard rumor that they are making one.

I think the key difference is those that voice their stupidity. Stupid exists everywhere. For those that view beyond the 3rd gen section, it's not hard to see where the statistics lie.

You got one thing right though. The stupidity of the third gen in the last 4 months of release equals that of the last 20 years of 1st/2nd gen...combined.

If you are taking this as a personal attack against you, then it sounds as if what I said must apply to you. Otherwise you wouldn't be lashing out at me.

No personal attack, just voicing my opinion which in reality doesn't mean shit. As I said, carry on.

I don't know why, but I think I have developed a sick sense of enjoyment watching people argue over the internet. It started out innocently enough...Just reading the forums at work...and now here I am, a few beers in reading this hilarious exchange. :bananadead::der::spy::hungry::anonymous:

It was more than enough for me. I really did want to like it, I just couldn't. I loved everything about the interior and most of the exterior but the motor and transmission just weren't doing it for me.

I'm just here for the bukake.

This forum makes it seem as if the roadsides should be littered with the carcasses of broken down third gens. Surprisingly, I've yet to see one broken down on the side of the road and I've actually seen quite a few driving around, without the hoods flapping around, and with no issues of them lurching back and forth searching for gears, or randomly shutting down.

This is indeed a major issue... chances are its a minor cause since so many other trucks do not report the problem. I worked in an automotive manufacturing facility for a while as a quality engineer. Sometimes problems manifested themselves as large issues (like this one) caused by a connector (poor installation due to worker variance, tool tolerances out of line, etc). Could be a faulty wire loom...
