Long time Tacoma owner and lover here. Been lurking here awhile and thought I’d introduce myself and maybe get some advice in the process. Bought my 2003 SR5 5speed new, fell in love with the thing and maintained it very well but definitely wasn’t afraid to get it dirty and have some fun. Fast forward to last year and I take a decent head on impact in a hit and run, with damage to the hood, front fenders, bumper, lights and the front right frame rail is bent. Skimped on insurance to pay for school, oh well. Sucks but whatever, I bend a bunch of stuff back with a come-along, throw on some lights and she’s back driving perfect like nothing ever happened. Parts are on order and I’m crazy busy with grad school and work. Then, in my infinite wisdom I decide to go off roading, alone, at night, what could happen? HYDROLOCKED! Now its almost a year later and its just been parked. Been too busy to tear the motor apart but she stopped with a bang, the cylinders are filled with water and mud and the engine can’t be turned by hand. Been hanging on to the truck with the hopes of creating a mean off road dedicated rig when the time and money are right.

However life just happens and storage, finances, and crazy schedules are making me consider parting or selling it. Luckily I don’t think it has any value to anyone but me in the current state but I’m open suggestions from you guys. Stay tuned for my 2JZ or LSx swap how-to thread coming in about 15 years! Anyway, glad to be part of the community and finally do a proper intro. I’ve also got a Land Rover Discovery I, E21 BMW and a couple motorcycles and live in south Jersey if there are any other enthusiasts interested.

    Welcome!
I went through 2 Discoverys and a GDE Range Rover before switching to Tacomas.

It's gotta be worth something just in parts, but if you don't have the time to fix it I doubt you'll have time to tear things down and sell it off piece by piece.

Why not just take a weekend off work, go to the local junk yard and get fenders and whatever else? Sad to see the truck just sitting there. :( welcome to tw too btw!

Welcome. My current profile pic is my 198? (Forgot now) Ford Ranger. Rolled that sucker and trashed it good back in 1994. No car and no plan... I joined the Army.

2015 and I am finally making my triumphant return to the world of 4x4 ownership.

Also, I sometimes post crap that is already available on the Internet.
