Well I was going hunting and crossed a creek that ended up being waaaayyyy to high. After entering the engine seems to have sucked in water through intake and shut down. After taking out plugs and coils I eventually got the motor to turn over. I put the plugs and coils back on and tried starting kept pushing water out the tail pipe! Finally I think it is all out motor turns over like it is going to start like normal but won't fire off any ideas?

Probably still runs better than a '16.

Can't help out, but I am here to see what anyone else has to say.

Next thing to do is drain the crankcase. It won't help the starting issue but will keep other bad things from happening when you do get it running.

    No.

It's an electrical issue. A new ECU MIGHT fix it. That's a thousand bucks though to see if it might work, not to mention all of the other electrical gremlins that could pop up.

Not sure where the ecm is located on these cars, but it may have corrosion on the terminals and circuit board. Find some way of drying it out and cleaning it.

It's behind the glove box just under the airbag.

I've seen this thread pop up a lot. Usually, if the computer is dunked, it's FUBAR'd. Not to mention the other issues that randomly creep up. The truck is dead. He could try fixing it, but with the expectation it's not going to work out.

You could, but set your expectations low. Check out the other thread where this has happened. That's all I'll say.

Like Rocklobster and I said, it's on the same level about at the glovebox. If the seats are toast it got soaked at least.

If you manage to make it through all the electrical nightmares, and the associated cost's with that, probably equal to half the price of the truck, THEN you can start pumping money into internal engine, transmission, front end, transfer case, etc.....THEN you can rip out the interior.....OR......Just take the insurance money and go buy another truck.

If you can do ALL those things yourself, You MIGHT be able to get it back to working condition for what the truck is worth.

If there is a CEL with the key on engine off than the ECU is alive. If there are electrical issues you should be throwing codes. So put a code reader on it.

The ECU should be potted and survive being dunked IF you shut it down before the water got to it.

If you allowed water ingestion to stall the motor it is most likely fuber.

Never cross water you don't know the depth of.
