Frame replacement and timing cover leak

    Frame is being swapped as I type. Quick opinion ...they want to charge me $800 to fix my timing cover leak. Tech originally asked for $1200. I flat out said it's too much. Suggested $600 plus they give me a new timing chain.

    So $800 is what they'll do, including parts and new timing chain. Is that a fair price???? I ain't doing this work myself so it's stays leaking (very slow) or I fix it now.

    I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
    You dont need new timing chain, better for them to install new guides if they want to.
    $800 seams a lot for fixing engine thats outsde a truck that OH BTW toyota supposed to get fixed anyway.
    If spendign that money will make you feel better than do it, but its a waste
