So the word has it,installing the OME suspension lift on our 16's will not lift to its full potential, due to some technicalities,as far as height, even with the 'heavy coils'. Do not take my word for it though, call ARB and hear it from the horses mouth. They don't plan on having the issue with the lift updated with the 16's, until early to middle of next year. I was about to pull the trigger, and ARB told me to hold off until they correct the technicality issues?

The basic reasoning for this is the 16's are higher (Then imagine throwing a heavy winch bumper on top of that),and no matter what numbers anyone is coming up with after they install the lift, I will say again, "Supposedly your not getting the full potential of the lift",sure you can install spacers and whatever else to come up with the height/numbers,but your not getting the full potential of the actual suspension lift itself...and if you do throw a winch bumper on your truck later, you may be in for a surprise immediately or down the road. Just talked to ARB this morning just to see when they would have the issues fixed, he said, "if they have supplies from their shelves that they can use, it will be a fast solution, and the kits will be sold with the update possibly within the next few weeks...but,If its something that has to be made especially for the 16's,then will be later in 2016 (February-April...rough estimate)". They have a fella flying in from Australia tomorrow, who is going to assist with the BP 51 and any issues, and said the the BP 51 will be ready for a go on our trucks March/April. Sure, many folks on here are making the OME lift work, but I personally feel more comfortable spending my money on an updated OME lift specifically for the 2016,and therefore will wait. Like I said though, call ARB and hear it from the horses mouth 425 264 1391. You can also call 4 wheel parts or another reputable company, and see what they say about it.

I am curious as to what others may think about this, whom have actually went ahead with the lift,AFTER already knowing about this 'supposed technicality issue'? And some input from some guys who are pretty versed mechanics.

Or who knows...Maybe we can get a representative from ARB to chime in here, and give us some feedback,as well as updates on the matter:boink:

I called them and they said the 887 coils will fit on 16 tacoma but arn't sure exactly how much it will provide. I have heard from others on this forum that they received just over 2" of lift compared to the advertised 3" some others with 2nd Gens got. I didnt ask about many other suspension parts bc I am only interested in installing the 887s right now.

Awesome you called! The more folks who call, the faster they will address the technicalities I'm sure. Its a universal issue with all the OME coils for the 16's then. While some installs seems to be hitting the mark, it has been varying from lift to lift on the 2016's;so,spending the money on a 2 or 3" lift, only to achieve 1" or so,and playing the odds seems a bit silly to me,unless one has the money for it and doesn't care.

Sounds like I may need to call as well if for no other reason than to show demand.

it would be nice to compare stock 2nd gen coils with 3rd gen coils, or/and strut it self, something is telling me that's where 2016 gain .75 lift or 3/4"

Definitely call to show demand. It would be cool if, all of 'Tacomaworld' called, that would probably put some fire under ARB.
