Awesome thanks for all the info. You really have done you're research on them. I just looked at a few pics and accessories they have. I can see why they $$ add up so fast..

Yeah, they can get stupid expensive but part of me thinks that I'd be just fine with the bare bones cover without all the crazy bells and whistles. I mean first you add one feature, then you tell yourself, maybe it would be nice if it also had this, and then that, etc...I think there's a point of diminishing returns and have to tell yourself are adding all those extra options REALLY that necessary? I mean, windoors would be nice but not at another $125-$150 per side nice. Just means I'll have to crawl my scrawny ass into the truck more, and really, how often will that option really come in handy? It's not like it's something I'm going to benefit from and take advantage of day to day.

Lol definitely run into the snowball effect with things like that. I buy what I like and need. I don't always go balls to the walls just to win a pissing contests anymore.

Not a tonneau but I thought you might be interested. A diamondback cover, a little pricey but I wanted the extra security. Rear lid can be tied down or lifted off. _CHB1953.jpg_CHB1955.jpg_CHB1960.jpg

I ended up ordering an ARE Z-Series and will start a new thread talking about why I went with what I did.

..... But as expected not totally waterproof. I need my Truxedo truck luggage to keep sensitive stuff away from the beads of water rolling around on the bed floor.

I picked up an Extang Trifecta for the 2016 Tacoma. Received it today and got it installed. Overall for the price, it's not bad but mine has/had a few issues.

    1. Screw was stripped and fell out in transit. Also a portion of the vinyl was not seated into the rear aluminum rail.
    2. Leaks water with pretty light rain. Nothing major, but similar to what others have posted. Also the drivers side rear of the cover doesn't sit flush with the top of the bed rail. Adjusting the brackets have not helped.
    3. Attaches nicely with brackets which mount to the side rails. It can be removed in a matter of minutes and it's light weight.
    4. No squeaks or rattles.
    5. Not a huge fan of the upward bow, but that's the reality of a vinyl cover.

I have sent an email to Extang asking assistance. For $350, I can't really complain.

Center section has 2 clamps on each side in the bed rails. Locking rods front and back also grip in the bed rails.

LoPro Flat across the entire bed ad sealed all the way around. No need for " sealing intervention"

For those who live in frigid temps the Lo Pro would be better than their TruXedo as the Lo Pro has adjustable tension for the weather conditions

Had a SnugTop SL2 Tonneau Cover installed today on my 2016 Toyota Tacoma. I was happy for about five minutes. The installer was walking me around, showing the operation of the cover when I asked him if the we could take the SnugTop decal off and he said yes. Well, in doing so, the paint came off too. The installer said SnugTop would cover it but they would want to repaint that top instead of sending out a new one and swapping it out. Thus, having my truck out of service for 2-3 weeks. I have since noticed the MGM paint on the SnugTop is darker than the truck.

I've never been impressed with Snug Tops attention to detail / paint quality. That's just me owning two of their products.
