I got a surprising call today that my truck is in! Problem is I wasn't expecting the call until after Christmas and I was unable to pick it up! I'm going out Monday morning to scoop it, so I have a long rest of the weekend to wait.

I ordered on October 12th. Black TRD Sport DCSB, premium/tech package w/ JBL and tow package. I got the bed extender and also a 2-way remote start. I had mudflaps thrown in for free, but they said they are on national backorder for a month or 2.

My longggg wait is almost over, I hope it's worth the wait. Any recommendations for what I should look for upon pick-up would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance and have a good weekend!

With all the packages, remote start bed extender, taxes, title, delivery I paid around 39,500K. I got about $1800 off MSRP along with the free mudflaps, which is only a few hundred above invoice. I worked them for all I could. Hoping I got a good deal!

Sounds like you did! You have the exact model I want. I'm in SLC, UT and haven't been able to get quite that much off yet. Pretty close though. I'd feel good about it if I were you. Thanks for the response!

Have you tried out True Car? I had a discount of $980 and signed the contract and this week I did True Car and got an additional $800 off. If you haven't checked it out I recommend it!!

Good luck!! How's your 2015 treating you? I've owned Toyota's in the past, but sadly never a Tacoma. I've always wanted a Tundra, but it's more than I need and the gas mileage is killer.

I haven't tried it yet. I talked to Mountain States in Denver and they game me a good quote somewhere near $1600 off MSRP but less than I wanted for trade in. I'm confident I can sell mine for what I want within a week or so. I just need to find the right deal on the new one. I'm also debating a tundra as well. Mainly because the backseat of my 2015 tacoma leaves something to be desired with my son's car seat.

Yeah, I hear you. I don't have kids, but will be expecting them in the next couple years. I've read up and the 2016 seems to have ample room for car seats. I know there's a thread on here talking about that.

When did you order yours? I'm hoping the black looks as nice in person. I've had a grey (Mazda 6), and I love that color but decided to change it up. I know it will take a little more to keep it clean, but that's part of the fun right?

I'll have to look into it. I love my 2015. Also had a 2005. Both TRD sports. Great trucks and great resale. They are the only vehicles I've ever bought new. Main reason I want a 2016 is the new refinements (sunroof, tech package, quieter ride, etc). Also the updated body looks are nice too.

Someone here used to buying new vehicles should give you a nice checklist of paperwork you should receive. Manuals, warranties, stickers, etc.

For me, when you get it home, check all the fluid levels and correct the tire pressures, including the spare. I'll make a cheap wager that the on ground tires are over inflated and the spare is under.

Next I would prep the paint with a good car soap wash and dry, a paint cleaning with a Nanoskin Autoscrub, and get a coat of Collinite 845 laid down.

Congrats on the truck. Hope you love it.

November 25th. But mine is a dealer allocation swap, was already out of production when I placed the order. I love black verhicles for that reason, you put some work into them, yes, but they are so impressive when all clean and shined up.

Yeah check things over. Brought mine home today. Steering wheel is off center and tires were at 37 psi. Taking it back on Monday for an alignment. Love it though.

Yeah, I kind of assumed to check fluid levels. Boggles my mind that the dealers don't check them that closely!

Well, I picked up the truck today and it's really more than I expected. I didn't get much time to play around with it because I had to go back to work, but everything is laid out nicely. I think the truck has more power than what others have been giving it credit for. I never switched to ECT or Sport mode and it still had plenty of acceleration and power. I can see where some have issues with all the shifting, but I honestly didn't even notice because it's so smooth.

The cabin is crazy quiet. I'm coming from an 04 Mazda 6s and I could barely hear myself think sometimes. The Tacoma is quiet, unless I have the JBL pounding! The sub hits surprisingly well and the sound is crisp at all volumes. I listened to a variety of music from country, classic rock, some harder rock like Tool/Chevelle/Audioslave, and rap. It all sounded really good. I took it to show my pops and he's been a mechanic for 40 years. One of the first things he said was how solid it was built. He opened and closed the door and said you can just tell it's quality (not that I expected anything less from Toyota). He's seen a lot of Colorado's and crawled under a few new ones and said they just seem cheap, inside and out.

I can't really comment on gas mileage yet. When I first started it at the dealer, it said I was getting 6 MPG haha. I drove about 50 miles total and it kept rising over 17 by the time I got home. I expect it to keep going at least to 19-20. If anyone wants any questions answered or anything, let me know! I'm sure I'll need my fair share of help as well.

Lastly, I got haggled pretty well from the dealer about the extended warranty. After I said no a bunch of times to the guy doing my financing, he walks out and the head lady from financing comes in and tries to convince me more by knocking $200 more off. I declined, but they really tried to make me feel like an idiot. Did anyone else go with the extended warranty? Why or why not? I'm not sure if everyone gets haggled that much or if it's cause I got a pretty good deal and they wanted to make a little more off me, if it's the end of the year and they wanted to pad there numbers, or they just do that to everyone. Let me know your experiences!

Happy Holidays everyone. Hope to hear from some of you!

    Tim

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
    Extended warranty? Absolutely not.
