Was pretty simple. Fishing the bolts through the existing bumper tube was a little tricky as there are some small bolts that stick down into the tube and get in the way. I had to loosen the 6 bolts that hold the stock bumper so every thing would mate up. The bolts started to get tight before the mating surfaces met. I loosened all the bolts, tightened the new receiver bolts and then tightened the factory bumper bolts. 86 ft. lbs is a hell of a lot of torque when you are laying on your back. I was going to post some photos but my computer is being contrary. I the hitch from etrailer for $167. Still waiting for wiring to become available.

Had my Curt receiver hitch installed on my 2016 Taco Friday, together with wiring and a brake controller. Hitch company couldn't get power to the 7-pin (or 3). Really frustrating. They're going to call Curt in the morning but I plan to call both Curt and Toyota first thing to see if they can help. The mechanic mentioned it could be a fuse issue or something. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be grateful....

Glad to hear the Curt hitch fits up OK as I just rec'd my hitch as well. I called Curt on availability of the T connector wire harness and was told it is designed, parts ordered and should be available in January. If you are in hurry, etrailer sells the "splicable" 4 pin flat wire harness but I personally would rather not splice into the factory wire harness......besides it is too cold and rainy to fish right now anyway.

Went back to the hitch shop and it turns out it was a grounding issue. they fixed it in 30 mins after they spoke to Curt tech support. My 2016 Tacoma now has a hitch and electrics!

I added this hitch to my truck, it was pretty easy. The fishing wire for the bolts in ingenious! I say that now because I am done. There were a few tense moments where new words were made up and new ways to use old ones were figured out but all and all not that bad a job and it looks good.
