My Sierra is going to be coming up on 100k miles sometime early this spring I estimate, so it's time to decide what's next.

Before my Sierra, I had a 2010 2.7 and then a 2012 2.7, both reg cabs. I really liked them despite the Tacoma's major flaws and the 2.7's low power.

I also really like my Sierra though. But let's be real - I don't need a 400 horsepower V8 (sure is fun though!).

I could go back to a Tacoma this time around, but I'm afraid I'll be disappointed.

Another Sierra/Silverado is the safe (but overkill) choice.

I could try the F150 with the 2.7 turbo 4. Nice gas mileage...

Can't buy a RAM because no plow package on their 1500 models.

What say you guys? Will the new Tacoma fail to give me the joy I got out of the 2nd gens?

It sounds like the new powertrain in the 3rd gen will leave you disappointed for your needs and wants. I myself have looked at the 2.7L F150s guy at work loves his. Not interested in the new Sierra? I had a 2014 for a brief moment, fantastic gas mileage for with the ecotec engine they have in there, just missed my taco too much. Good luck with your search.

Trade in for a 2.7L ecoboost f-150 and get much better power and mpg than a 2.5 gen. Also you'll have a more reliable vehicle, at least it seems like that's how things are going.

There won't be a plow package available for the Ridgeline. So that nixes that. Looks like a cool truck though.

Is there one for a Tacoma? Don't recall of hearing of such.

Why not run the Sierra another 100k or so?

    I agree.
If snow plow is a must consideration, keep the Jimmy as your plow vehicle and get a new DD.
If space, parking, or budget are issues...and you are hellbent on a new rig, I do not believe the Tacoma will cut it for you.
Get the F250 King Ranch and be done with it.
