Not to come off like a dick (really) but, being honest...I do not agree that the dealer should cover the cost of any part of your needing new tires unless they did something to your vehicle to cause a problem. I will say (becaue I think of my own mother driving) I would have some empathy for the "86 year old widowed lady" but, I would also argue that if a person isn't aware of the basic needs of drive safe, then one shouldn't be driving.

But, have you found why the tires are wearing?

I am calm, just realistic is all!

The what if game gets old. You aren't an 86 year old woman. I still have a hard time believing you take it in every 5k miles and they never brought any of this to your attention. I know when I serviced my vehicles they never reported back on the life of my tires unless they were doing something with suspension. My oil changes where just that. When I had a tire going bad, I found it, and bought a new set. I didn't wait for a shop to tell me the obvious.

I agree they should have caught it.

I always check my own stuff even if someone else has worked on it, or especially then.

I'm surprised the dealer didn't notice the first signs of wear. If an alert service adviser or tech spotted it, they would've had you scared shitless and have their hands in your pocket for $2,000. or more.
