Just got off the phone with the dealer. He said the system they look at to track vehicles had my truck moved back to the 24th then he looked a little later and it said it might be on the lot so they're trying to find it. Sounds like a few of you are having similar experiences. It's crazy! I might be buying my first truck today OR I might have my car for another week or maybe month. Ugh. Just want some certainty.

How the hell could a dealership have your car on a lot but not be able to find it ? It's not a needle in a haystack.

I agree. It doesn't make sense. Some people thought it was absurd they couldn't find the Malaysian plane but I think people underestimate the size of the ocean. A dealership is no ocean. Where are these trucks??

I'm doing the waiting game. When we did the paperwork last week, it was theoretically on a train in Montana destined for a different dealer in Portland. He said yesterday that it should be ready to go today. Tomorrow at the latest. :\ We'll see if this guy does a decent job at managing my expectations ;-)

He told me that it was literally the only MGM Off-Road Access cab destined for (or already in) the Northwest, for the next 60 days. Not sure how much I trust that bit of information...

I placed my order with my dealer about 3 weeks ago. About a week later he told me it didn't get allocated but he would place as special order during the next order. I told him I would accept two different interior colors and with or without a tonneau. He said mine already ordered so it wouldn't help my lead tIme. From what I have read on this forum I kind of disagreed but let it go. Today they called said he able get an allocation build date of about a month from now. With my alternate interior color, my preference actually as of now, but minus the tonneau. It seems there are descent after market options for bed cover so I am fine with that. I thought this might help anyone still waiting for a build date.

It's odd to me how they don't even know if it's on the lot but my guy did get back with me pretty quick after they checked the new stock and let me know that it was not there. Really didn't expect it to be.

I hope you guys placing orders have written price commitments. My deal was done when I placed the order. No surprises except good ones I did not pay for (Dealer tinted the truck, gave a one year Ding protection and key loss protection, Nitrogen, pinstriping, Full tank, and six oil changes)

I was at the dealership just yesterday making sure of this. I had to drop off my trade in as I'm moving tomorrow and my truck in finally in route to the dealership now. I had my salesman and the manager draw up all the papers so when they overnight them to me there's no surprises. I'm trying to negotiate a deal on the extended warranty and the manager says he'll "take care of me" for some of the problems I've had. I think it was your list you posted on the ESC's I copied so we shall see. :fingerscrossed:

Unfortunatly Toyota shut Toby down. Igot mine a couple weeks before Toyota said he could not sell online through the mail but you can GO there and get those prices. Well worth a flight for some. Jerry at Midwest Toyota has them as well in Kansas, The Try Dietrich at FDSwarranty.com sells Southeast Toyota versions of them at a good discount still. But they are not TFS they are Fidelity which is owned by the same people who own Southwest Toyota Distributorship. I paid $1050 for an 8 year 100,000 mile Platinum VSC. You get most of it back if you trade in three years, or it can be used to sell privately to get top dollar.

My build date was on Nov. 18. Dealer told me 2 days ago that it was in Ohio on the rail. Wont see it until after XMas. Wow! 6 weeks after build when many are getting them 3-4 weeks after.... oh well.

Dark in the front Medium in the back so it matches all around

Would you mind doing a write-up on how you hardwired your V1? I have one that is hardwired to my sunroof in my tC that I plan to take with me into the Tacoma when it comes in next month.

Red on the connector slip it into the pin with the peachish/orange wire on the plug to the mirror. Black slip into the pin with the white wire. Plug in and turn on. Bam. Done.

You don't have to take out any wires or splice into anything. If the red/black don't push into the pins, try going on the other side of the wire. Mine slipped in without any pressure on the bottom side of the wires.

Correct. The hardest part for me was getting the mount screwed tight. Wiring it up took about 20 seconds.

People have been reporting that the connector pins on the plug are kind of fragile so be careful with you push them into the mirror pin slots. If they dont go in with ease, try a different angle. Mine slipped in very easy from the bottom side of the wire (if the pin were to be plugged in, the side closest to the dash, it seemed like there was more space)

My waiting game started back in October. They originally told me 3-4 weeks...that got pushed 3-4 weeks...I now, finally have a production date of January 24th...should be here by February 18th...I just hope the guys building it on a Sunday, have their head in the game...don't have to worry about the Cowboys being in the playoffs that day...that's a good thing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Subaru mirror I used in my truck was off when the car was off in my old Outback, but using the Tacoma harness it is on all the time (I prefer the Toyota way as I don't have to turn off the stupid compass every time I jump in). I'm guessing it is a mirror side thing because the harness is slightly different in the two vehicles. Counting mirror pins left to right, top row first, the Tacoma uses pins 1, 4, and 9 and the Subaru (if memory serves) uses 1, 2, and 4.

Oh I guess I should have said that mine is the TRD Sport so I dont have homelink. Not sure how the wiring would work with homelink.
