The 265-70-17 mud terrains weigh 14 more pounds than the all terrains, a total of 56 pounds. How bad is that going to hurt milage/additional stress&wear? should I just stick to the AT? That additional weight doesn't seem worth it to me. Any input is appreciated!!

Never had the MTs, but I have the 285/70/17 ATs on my truck and love em. Sticks in the rain and not much louder than stock.

If you need mud terrains, then I guess you could research other brands?

If you don't need them, 14# of unsprung weight is a lot to put up with just for looks or something.

    -WeatherTech liners
That's a tremendous amount of unsprung weight per corner.

-Decrease in power, mpg, braking performance, as well as handling performance.
-Additional stress on bearings, suspension joints, steering components, shocks/struts

Not to mention the MT tread pattern and LT load rating will be provide a rough and noisy ride and will only get worse as the miles increase.

If you're buying Toyo ATs make sure to get the P rated tires and not the LT rated versions, lighter

The extra weight will slow the truck down and hurt your mileage. It takes more energy to move more mass. It will also affect your stopping ability. It takes more energy to stop more mass. However, if you spend enough time off-road to consider MT tires, then they will be worth it.
