To give you some perspective, this is 50% 3M Cyrstalline on the fronts and nothing on the rear. Some people say why bother lol. Depends on angles and amount of daylight...my windows go from looking barely tinted to looking blacked out. In CA we can't go below 70 on the fronts and I've already had my share of tickets with 20%. Stay close to your state limit and you should be good unless you like donating to your local law agency lol.

image.jpg So I ended up going with 20% up front and left the back stock and it's almost identical.

Not sure of the %. My tint shop uses Light Medium Dark Limo. I personally have been going to him for the past 8 years and we use him with our company vehicles. One of our employees still has the tint done by him and its still in perfect shape after 10 years.

Did Dark on the front and Medium on the rear to match dark all around with a front windshield visor tint of medium just to hide the dash cam a little

I went with 20% all the way around with a 5% strip. My wife drives the truck more then me so that's the reason for 20% because my other truck is 5% all around and I love it. It's a little difficult to see at night with the 5% but with the Florida heat during the day the darker the better

To my understanding the stock tint has no UV protection. So I went 20% front and 35% back

Implying darker rejects more heat is simply not true. Films 70-90% can reject equally or better than 5%...it's the quality of the film that determines heat and UV protection, not the dye in the film. Just wanted to put that out there to stomp the myth.

Does anyone know the color or brand that is the best match to stock rear? I would hate to end up with a green or blue looking front tint trying to match.

    +1
That's the issue. My tint guy held up pieces of different brands/shades on the window so I could see the difference.
I went with 15 all around. Love it.
Sometimes in dark areas near curbs or parking I roll the window down a little so i can see better but that's rare.

I went 3M Crystalline 20% on the fronts and they match the factory rears perfectly. I also went 3M Crystalline 70% on the windshield. This allows me to not run a sun shade and keeps the trucks fairly cool.

I'll be doing 5% on the rear this week and 15-20% on the front.

I put 20 percent on the front windows and none on the back. Because I was told the back were already 20 percent.

You can see right through the back as soon as the sun hits it.

I'm having the dealership tint when my truck arrives .
They based the tint on a $299 price.
    1. Should I expect front windows only to be tinted or all windows on a crew cab?
    2. does the factory rear tint have UV protection?

    Shop around man.
Not sure what everyone else is paying, but I got a pre quote for when my Taco ever gets in, and my local place quoted me $175 to do all 4 windows plus a strip in windshield, or $75 for just the 2 front windows and the strip.

Can anyone confirm this about the stock rear tint?

Sounds right to me. The stock "tint" sucks. If you stand behind the truck with light hitting the windshield, you can't tell the rear is "tinted" at all.
