Would full LT count as "one mod"? As in just suspension, (one component of the vehicle). That'd be my first choice.

Somewhat dependent on how you envision using your Taco most of the time?

    mostly camping/dirtbagging: shell
    mostly for work/hauling: upgrade suspension
    mostly off-roading: dunno

Tires, cause the stock factory ones are shit. I drove right from the dealer to the tire shop when I bought my truck.

I'd have to say though that adding a camper shell has had the most significant impact on how I use my truck.

You have to think about what it means to be the "best" modification. Without any further clarification about what the OP's specific needs are, I'm going to define best as:

"The affordable modification that best meets the needs of the widest population of users." In other words, one that can or should be most widely adopted.

People use their trucks in a wide variety of ways, but because it's an open bed truck rather than, e.g. a van or SUV, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that at some point that usage is going to involve dirt and the outdoors. Otherwise, you'd have bought a van or SUV.

That leads to dirty feet tracking dirt into the cab. Dirt is anathema to carpet, and all our trucks are carpeted. The dealer will happily provide you with carpeted floor mats.

So, with that in mind, my nomination for "best single modification" is Weathertech Floor Liners.

I see you have the color matched balls. Thats not a mod. I thought that came stock with the Sport package.

....Color matched sport mirrors, rear bumper, grill surround, and testicles.

The way they come from the factory these days Id say get a lift as long as it is also a suspension upgrade. if i had to own one without a level kit at least I would load bricks in the back till it leveled. Cant stand a nose down 4x4.

But since its 30 below this morning I'm thinking a block heater if it didn't come installed by the dealer.

    BTW
    Merry Christmas
