Alright for the story. Sold my 2012 tacoma because i was sick of making payments. I was looking for something i could beat up on the trails and build as my son gets older.

I bought this in september for $1400 with 270k on it. Original everything as far as i can tell.

    upload_2015-12-24_1-40-57.jpg

She was beat up and neglected but ran solid and no rust so i took her home.

First thing i did was clean the mess out of it. The previous owner looked like he hadnt vaccumed it in a year! It also needed new shocks so i went ahead and purchased ome883's and ome 891's with bilstein 5100's. I didnt take any pics of the install unfortunately.

    This is with the lift:
    upload_2015-12-24_1-46-30.jpg

As you can see i already had the snowflakes installed that i purchased from @voz! Looks so much better. It did require wheel spacers to keep from rubbing the uca's. Also picked up a 2002 grille and taillights from a scrap 4runner locally.

The next problem i had was a lag upon acceleration in low rpms. I was worried like hell so i started with the basics. Changed the spark plugs and wires and that fixed my problem. Thank God!!!! I also changed the oil and fuel filter and some other basic maintenance things.

Went on a wheeling trip to uwharrie at this point in the build to stretch her legs
    upload_2015-12-24_1-49-13.jpg
    upload_2015-12-24_1-49-35.jpg

A lot of flex with this setup:

    upload_2015-12-24_1-50-9.jpg

And a video of me on dickey bell!
    https://youtu.be/Imcu7rxR_gk

Stretched her legs a little far and broke a cv axle...doh
Did a trail repair and replaced both the next morning thanks to a few guys helping out! Someone has some pics of this i just need to find them and i will add them in.

Also got tired of having no lights for night runs or what have you. So i ordered a light bar and two flush mount leds.

Had to fab a bracket for the front:
    upload_2015-12-24_1-54-7.jpg

    Light bar went on finally:
    upload_2015-12-24_1-54-41.jpg

    Rear pod lights:
    upload_2015-12-24_1-55-17.jpg
    upload_2015-12-24_1-55-40.jpg

Air on board switches: Put the compressor switch in because i was ordering it at the time
    upload_2015-12-24_1-56-21.jpg

Then i was finally sick and tired of riding around with a tan door  so i ordered some paint and went to town. I am by no means a professional painter. hell im not even a good painter but i wanted it to be green!!! I wasnt worried about it being perfect just green as i plan on wheeling this thing!

    Prep work:
    upload_2015-12-24_2-0-21.jpg

    and Paint:
    upload_2015-12-24_2-0-59.jpg

Found a roof rack on craigslist for the right price after months of searching:

    Finally starting to come together:
    upload_2015-12-24_2-1-59.jpg

Got rid of the ugly gigantic stock hitch:
    upload_2015-12-24_2-2-41.jpg

Had a bad clunking in the front end and figured it was my sway bar bushing being that they were halfway gone. Went to replace them and broke a bunch of shit so i just removed it.
    upload_2015-12-24_2-11-0.jpg

And then a recent clean pic:
    upload_2015-12-24_2-5-59.jpg

Went ahead and ordered a hilux 167 snorkel, cbi ditch light brackets and lights, 2 more wheel spacers for the rear, and a smittybilt rooftop awning. Should all be here by new years so stay tuned for some more mod pics!

After new years im going to put some 285s on it and hopefully some sliders. Then ill start saving for the rear locker.

Glad you painted the door. You had me cracking up!! At the beginning, you have a picture of your 4Runner all green...except one brown door!! Then right next to it..you stated "original everything as far as I can tell". That's when I started laughing out loud...thinking, oh yeah, he got one of those super rare special ordered 4Runner..all green with one brown door...hahahahahaha!!

Sorry...it's late!! Just thought that was really funny!! Anyway...other than that, awesome looking build. That stinks you can't find all your pictures. That happens to me all the time! Hopefully you'll find then.

Did you drive around without the front door when you painted it?

    Nice build by the way!

Sweet. All the noises gone with the sway bar off? Are you gonna get new endlinks to put it back on?
