I think the spare tire is too low. With a 35 hanging from the back there. It will drag on everything. But I like the rest of it

I really like the look and low profile-ness of the swing out. I believe you can also pick what side to mount the tire on whether it be driver or passenger.
I'm a little iffy on the holes since they aren't dimpled (to my knowledge) but I feel like that could be an easy fix if needed. Only time will tell

so when the shop installed my ARB locker, they gave me the OEM core. Is this something to keep or chunk?

CBI plate rear bumper with swingaway, SPC Light Racing UCAs, ARB SS170HF Safari snorkel w/ Afrikaans centrifugal pre-cleaner, Tacoma antenna mod, TRD Supercharger w/ URD 7th inj. & URD pulleys, Anti-Dark engine bay lighting system. Having gone 250k, Aug 2016 was the time to replace the original clutch & get the driver's seat rebuilt/stuffed. Front & back Weathertech liners. '05 Tundra front disc brake swap. Full length Rocky Mountain Rack with 40" lightbar, Alternating strobe rear dust lights. I used a warm weekend in March 2022 to finally install my brand new from old stock 2000 4Runner driver's seat. $800 directly from the factory in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
I finally have all the parts in one place for a Taco antenna mod & an ARB SS170HF Safari snorkel install like the one below. Has anyone on the CO front range done this to a 3rd gen 4R before? Everything looks simple enough, BUT drilling 6 screw holes & a 3" hole in a damage/rust free quarter panel makes me nervous. A garage with a 7'6" clearance would be nice, but a warm winter day would do as well. :help:

Yes sir...it's called a rear differential carrier. If you ask me, the new name of yours is AKA: paper weight, junk, or scrap metal. In the 3-4 years I've been on here...I've never seen anyone talked about there's going bad, or anyone trying to selling/buy one. That just MHO...

I have not....but I want one bad. I started to buy one a couple months back, but then ARB started taking about making an 4Runner specific snorkle. So Ive been waiting to here what's going on with that, which has been nothing so far. When I painted my black stripe on the bottom of my 4Runner...I went ahead and removed my antenna all together in preparation for my Snorkle. I put a splitter on my CB antenna and now use it for my radio.

From the guys I've talked to...messure 2 twice or 3 or 5X before cutting that big hole. Once you cut...there's no going back!! Make sure you take some pictures for us!! Love to see it. I know for sure there are several "How To's" over on T4R.org site if you want to see some pictures. I'm excited for you...I think they look total Bad A$$!!

    Good Luck

It's all in prep for a s/c install in January. I want a real cold air intake instead of the warm dust intake I have now.

Really...I'm very interested in this! I too have a SC, but have been told by several that you can't use snorkles with a SC...because they don't allow enough air in?!? Have you heard anything about this?? I have no personal knowledge one way or the other. But knowing a Snorkle is $400...I've been very concerned about this?? Would you please keep me up dated on this.

    Thank you!

Hey your build thread looks great. I've been meaning to do one forever!! I guess the biggest reason is I don't know where to go or how to start it?? Yours looks great. Too bad you can't find your other pictures!! Although you have a lot of pictures already.
