Yeah, bad enough that his attempt to bash the 16s was an epic fail but why post in the Black Tacoma thread ? Double fail.

 

I was unsure of how I'd like it so all I did was clean the area to be sprayed with
alcohol, let it dry then masked the area around it and gave it 5 or 6 coats of plasti-dip.

When it starts, if it starts to peel or chip, I'll tear it off and sand and paint it properly, I
really like the way it looks black.

The Toyota emblem pops right off which made that really ez to paint. Also, I left the hood
open the entire time which protected it from any spray flying around.

Just went to visit my truck at the dealership, arrived around 2:00 today. Dealer needs to install the accessories, might be ready for pick up tomorrow. WowEEEEE... that black paint is so much more beautiful in person than it appears in photos. I cannot wait to get it clay barred and get a coat of

Yes, Plasti-dip'd it. came out good, I like it.

 

Hey do you have a link to the part you used to attach this to the rail? I'd like to do this but all the threads i've seen that have bottle openers, they are all screwed into the bed frame. Have you had any issues with the rail when opening bottles or it is it solid?

 

Should be solid. The rails hold tie down cleats and keep heavy furniture from sliding around. A bottle opener should be no problem.
