I'm looking for an electric cooler I can plug into the bed and take it into a hotel room and keep it plugged in. A portable fridge is more than I want to spend. We will use it traveling 3 or 4 times a year. Anybody have a recommendation?

I've been using a Coleman Powerchill Thermoelectric cooler for quite some time. They're about $100 and keeps the inside about 35-40 degrees cooler than outside temp. It doesn't come with the power supply converter so that'll be an extra expense but needed for both the bed of the truck and to plug in inside the hotel.

I've also got an Igloo one as well but haven't taken it out of the box yet.

So in 90* weather 50* is all it's good for?

Or under a black tonneau, around 120*, only good for 80*?

Sounds like hot Coke and spoiled mayo time to me.......... but I do thank you for the heads up, because I'd thought about something like this.

Exactly! I had an FJ before the Taco so the cooler worked ok. Now I just use it in the van or if I have room in the back seat of the cab.

Been seriously considering a fridge/freezer but hard to justify the cost with how often I'd end up using it.
