Yes Im a nut case. Now that this is out of the way to my question. I can't get over how cool the crawl and multiterrain select features seem in all the videos. the 8.7" rear and the bilstein shocks and 16" a/t tires also seem cool. So I'm thinking about trading it in for a Blue TRD-OR double cab prem/tech JBL.

Here is what happened I had a silver trd-OR tech/prem 6MT on order for 8 weeks, got impatient as they couldnt even actually get the order accepted. Bought a Blue Limited with no tow package off the lot at the different dealer. Was kind of bummed it didn't come with tow and all the cool coolers and hitch. I don't really own anything to tow but seems nice to have that capability.

Test drove the Blue limited and an Orange TRD-OR tech/premium, tow, Non-jbl. The orange was a bit loud but was considering buying it. After getting back from the test drive another salesman came up and said sorry this one SOLD during your drive! Bam just like that no more TRD-OR anywhere to be found in the Philly area. Also test drove a 6MT sport which I didn't care for the roughness of the clutch and transmission. Im a long time car stick shift guy but never truck. So I am secure in my decision to go auto. Plus it seems like the auto is more capable off road with the crawl and MTS features anyways.

I don't really off road and never took my frontier pro-4x off road in the 4 years I owned it. But I can see myself maybe taking it up. I did use the locking diff 1 time to get out of deep snow but perhaps 4lo and the auto-brake pseudo limited slip would have accomplished the same thing.

I do like the leather/pleather in the limited with would probably get seat covers anyway so its doesnt matter. The tech in the TRD_OR seems so cool I feel like I am missing out with the limited... I also want the tow package and the additional coolers. I have 3 kids and their seats fit back there nicely. My limited has 600 miles on it and I know there my be a cash hit which sucks. I have a decent job making about 400k a year so I can absorb the hit by working a couple extra shifts. Yes I already know Im crazy so you don't have to remind me or razz me too much. What say you?

Seems like if you're making 400k a year you probably don't need to work extra to lose a few thousand...

I love how a "decent job" pays 400k a year.

At your income level, you don't need to ask folks on this forum a question like this IMO. I make good money too and do whatever I want with it. Sometimes wise, sometimes stupid. However if I'm gonna work, I am going to enjoy something to cope with the stress which comes with the job. If you want it, go buy it. If you don't, then enjoy the limited.

Let's rationalize for one second though. If you have nothing to tow, then you are missing nothing by not having the tow package. The Tacoma is not something you'd buy primarily to tow with IMO. I've had my Off Road for a month now, and I've yet to use Crawl Control or MTS. If you find situations that warrant you using it on a daily basis, then a swap could make more logical sense. However the Tacoma has been a top seller for a long time without these features, so it's just a little more icing on the cake. You do have Leather and a Garage Door Opener!

Just my two cents which doesn't mean much.

If it's besides the point why say anything at all about what you make or how long you went to school?

    Nobody cares.

And nobody cares what you drive either.

Life's too short to be making that money and not driving what you want.

I make 50000 a year with three kids and it will take me 4 years to pay off after I put 15000 down.... if you make half a mill in a year I would do whatever you feel like. Could probably own both and trade one later.

If you never go off road the crawl control would be useless, as well as suspension, unpainted fender flares, etc. But again, life is short and money is made to be spent

Yeah big money, got my Off/Road and the only thing I wish I had from the Limited was the awesome leather (just because of the color and durability). Yeah you may not need the tow package but in case you ever wanted to it would be nice to have, I have towed a small trailer a few times already and it is worth it just so you know it wouldn't damage the truck. Plus dude if you are pullin in 400k go find one online somewhere, pre negotiate the deal and get everything in writing, fly out and pick it up and drive it back or shit have it shipped! Oh and if you get the prem tech you get the heated seats which is one of the only things I was worried about not getting with out the limited but hence non-factor! Shit buy one in each color if you want.

No. It's a secret agent salary, then I would no longer be a secret agent. :spy:
