Drive line vibration fixed

    3" lift, Gibson exhaust, TRD Pro wheels, Bestop Supertop
    I have a 2010 TRD sport short bed. I bought it used and it always had a slight vibration at low speed around 15-20 mph. I started reading about it and heard mixed theories about what caused it and how to fix it. Some even said that it was just the way they are so I learned to accept it. After all, it wasn't that bad. Then, one day, I noticed a sqeaking noise coming from the drive shaft while in reverse, kind of like a hampster wheel. It wasn't real loud so I tried to ignore it until it got too loud to ignore. I usually wait to fix things until they break. I located the problem (sqeaking) it was the rear u-joint at the axel. I removed the drive shaft and decided to replace both the front u-joint and the rear. By the way, it's not too bad to do. It can be done with just a couple of basic tool. After I reinstalled the drive shaft all the vibration went completely away.

    Stock but with a Warn 10s winch Used to be a lightly modded Tacoma
    Sometimes we can get hung up on advanced theories of drive line science, and angles of inclination, shims etc.etc. that the basic stuff gets ignored. Although, in fairness, modern u joints seldom fail. Back in the old days, though, they sure did. Way to go Justin.
