Does anyone use a heated blanket and 12v extension cord? If so what brand, I'm worried about some of the cheaper Chinese ones setting my shit on fire, I guess thats a concern with any heated blanket but still I would like a quality one for my tent!

I had a mattress pad heater at home and boy, was that luxurious! Which is why I could see the heating pad as long as you have something that will keep you warm without it.

The heated mattress pad is great and doesn't use much power. We place it under a fitted sheet on our pad and it works like a charm, doesn't get dirty, and takes no room when you close the tent.

Where did you find a fitted sheet for your RTT mattress? I have been looking everywhere and cannot seem to find one that even closely matches the dimensions.

I ordered my tent on December 14th and received it on the 21st just in time for Christmas.

    Tepui Autana in haze gray

I had an off-road trailer i had built when I had my jeep. I decided to update the simple racks on the trailer to make it adjustable.

    Trailer before the updates:
    IMG_20110320_194528_d448cc077e741db0604c9562353a2253486f454a.jpg

I started by removing the two metal racks on top of the trailer lid. I then added some 1.5x1.5 square tubing brackets to the sides of the trailer. Inside these I added some 1x1 square tubing that will be used to lift the tent up. I reused the two rack pieces that i took off the top of the trailer lid.

I added some linear actuators to each bracket to assist in raising the tent.
In this picture you can see the added brackets with the tent mounted on the rack. The rack is in the low position.

Here the rack is at the high position.

I setup the tent in the back yard to see how it would set up. The orange straps are to add some diagonal bracing. The lid for the trailer is removed in these pictures, but it was put back on after these pictures were taken.

My future plans are to make an adjustable rack for the back of the Tacoma. I will be reusing most of the components that were used in the trailer.

I was thinking about attaching Velcro to a non fitted sheet and strapping it around...hmmm might have to look into that and respomd with my findings. In the interim you could probably find a little market on the forums for a custom fitted sheet for RTT... Weesa becomes a vendor!

What did you do for the velcro that attaches the mattress to the base?

Nothing. With the condensation mat the velcro is worthless. I fold the mattress over and put the mat on top before closing the tent

****Warning***** Die hard Tepui and CVT fan boys should look away.

Tepui Autana - Shasta Mod (Storage)

Ever since I had put in my new sleeping bag (queen size -20° rated, duck cloth) it has been a challenge to zipper close the Autana tent.

With the wear and tear over the past few months it has stretched the cover and now the zipper is above the floor line causing leaks, and mildew after sitting without noticing.

After some research, CVT's tents are the same comparable size but 3" taller due to their 2pc slide ladder while Tepui uses the telescoping and therefore flatter design.

Here are few pics of before and after.

    Tepui zipped on too tight.

Top view of the cover, still has about an 1.5" more room without being pulled tight.

To answer the question about the bottom sheet, I have an XL Ruggedized so I just use a king size bottom sheet and it works well.

Oh yeah, we stayed in the Mojave Desert Preserve on the way home from Colorado. We stayed in the northern half this time and found the terrain much different. Many more cacti and the rock formations were varied. Amazing place.

On the way out, south side:

Well it was cold as balls but made it through the the weekend with an avg temp of -14. Had sOme frost building up inside the tent before we got inside, also there was ice buildup under the foam and mat, two of the side clips broke when packing up Friday so I had my gf sit on the tent so I could zip up the cover. Other than that it was a good trip

I think I'm going to invest in a heater buddy just for warming up the tent before going to bed and after I wake up
