Notice gear oil dripping from my axle the other day. After doing some research and help from you guys I decided to tackle this job. Plus I like working on my on ride.20151228_140426.jpgso first I drained the gear oil.20151228_143616.jpg remove the drive shaft and mark where the pinion nut was.20151228_143646.jpg I recommend air tools for this.20151228_154425.jpgpulled the old seal and replace it with the new one.20151228_161445.jpg bolted everything back together filled it up with gear oil (80-90w)and took it for a test drive. No leaks. Took me about an hour. Not sure what caused it to leak there was some sand around the old seal.

Me to. I don't think the gear oil has ever been changed. 35,000 miles. Next is the diff extender mod.
