Its CA law. Passed in 2008? (sometime around there at least) that every new gun registered in CA has to have a Chamber Loaded Indicator. CA also requires magazine disconnect's as well.

Mind you that is on new guns. Any registered before the dates the laws went into effect are grandfathered in. So you can still see brand new in box guns without them as long as they are the same gun that was registered before the law took place.

Or something along those lines. I tried looking into CA gun laws to bring some guns with me when i go there for work. I gave up cause its such a cluster and confusing.

Ok got an AK47 magazine question for you guys.

I picked up some Polish Steel AK47 mags from aim surplus. Used but reconditioned. They look great. But one of the mags i got will only load 25 rounds instead of 30. Tried unloading it and reloading it but still only fits 25. Any recommendations or is it just stuck as a 25 round mag? I didnt notice any dents or anything on the outside that would limit it.

Break them both down. Is one spring or follower different than the other? If not, switch out springs & followers. If it's still limited to 25 rounds you have a dented or burred mag body. I suspect you'll see a difference in the springs or followers.

Ill give that a shot. Just weird cause normally it gets a bit harder and harder to load as you get towards the last round. This mag was normal, normal. normal, bam no more lol.

Im not to worried even if it is 25 round. Ill just have it be my range mag and i dont often load more than 10 rounds at the range

Took it apart along with one of the other good ones. Didnt notice any dents. Swapped springs between the two and both work now. SO who knows, maybe the spring was installed funky or something

Are you pretty happy with those mags other than that problem? I'm thinking about grabbing a few.

Im happy with them for the price. I ordered 10 and the finish on 3 or 4 of them wasnt perfect but still 95%. They are nice mags thats for sure.

Granted i am comparing them to just surplus Korean mags. The Korean arent finished in anything other than the steel look. But comparing the two other than finish the Polish ones are nicer. They just look and feel a bit more refined whereas the Korean ones feel a crude.

Id have no problem recommending the Polish ones! Id recommend the Korean if they go on sale like they were when i picked them up (5 bucks each) too though

Awesome thank you, I think I'll try a few. I typically trust polish and comm bloc country mags, but I have heard hit and miss on the Korean ones. Never seen refinished ones like this though so it made me curious.
