I use the 7424 and the 5.5" Lake Country Pads also. Meguiar's 105 and 205 are pretty foolproof if you are working out some imperfections otherwise an All in One Product works pretty well if the surface is in good shape, I used Pinnacle 360 All in One this past summer and it worked fine.

You might find this Menzerna chart helpful. I've been researching Menzerna for about 4 hours tonight. You prob know more than I do, but if you have any questions, I might be able to direct you to an AG thread. I've read a lot of them in the last week and bookmarked several to go back to. I might have some questions for you, too.

I ended up using the Lake Country Flat Pads from Autogeek. I don't detail other people's cars so I didn't need anything aggressive at all. I bought two of each:

    Orange: Light Cut
    White: Polishing (very light cut)
Black: No cut use for applying wax or sealant

Cool, thanks. Those are the three colors of LC flat pads that I bought. Do you get hazing when polishing with the white pad? I read in several threads on the AG forum that guys sometimes get hazing with the white pad on soft paints.

I planned to start my test spots with UP on white pad, then ULW on black pad. But maybe I'll just use black for both if hazing is possible with polish on the white. My paint isn't bad enough yet that it is worth hazing the paint for the sake of doing a 2-step correction for what few swirls are there. Overall, my paint is pretty sharp looking still.

No hazing here. Looks like glass when done. Some of those guys on Autogeek or a little over the top when it comes to detailing, IMO.

Have to remember Autogeek has a lot of pros on their board. Like anything else take with a grain of salt.

Good point. I do wonder about that sometimes- like when someone tells me some other product finishes better than UP. Then I get to thinking maybe UP isn't good enough. But in reality, UP will probably get me shinier paint than I've ever had my hands on. And I probably wouldn't know the difference anyway. But in the moment, that stuff can make me doubt myself.

They are really referring how the product is working. Some polishes are easier to work with. Some have less dusting while some don't have to be wiped off before starting the next polishing step. That was a benefit of Adams. Start with Paint Correcting Polish then once finished move on to Paint Finishing Polish without wiping off previous polish. Paint Correcting Polish finishes better than the Megs stuff that I used before.
