I think it looks good.... but man light bars are becoming more of a decorative item than a functional item.

Are they not wired, and you're the only one who noticed or something or are you just being sad?

Yours looks great! I have a quick question and nfab isn't much help. When you installed yours was there an issue near the recovery loop that's welded on? I got mine and tried to put it on but that loop was in the way.

I think that day happened quite a while ago.

I can dig this though. It at least looks like some thought was put into it.

My point is this: there is either a huge increase of people wanting auxiliary lighting for "functional" purposes or there is an increase of people who want it for cosmetic purposes. I think it's the latter.

10 years ago you wouldn't see as many people rolling down the road, prior to light bars, with auxiliary lighting. I think it's just for looks most of the time TBO

My truck came with one from previous owner. Would I put one on again? Maybe. But definitely not on the roof because the noise is absurd. Not the whistling necessarily but the vibration of the roof while going 70mph down the freeway.

Oh and by the way, to the OP, that bumper does indeed look cool.

Auxiliary lighting is cheaper, lower profile and less obvious, and technology is far better than 10 years ago.

Sure, aesthetics plays a hand in all enthusiasts mods to a varying degree - but saying something that has a function is more decorative than functional is misplaced logic, to a significant degree.

Misplaced logic? What about clothes? Chrome on vehicles? Paint color? The way wheels look? The way flares look? The way ANYTHING looks? People make decisions on the way things look. Period

You're telling me cosmetics doesn't have something to do with people making decisions on their purchases just because it's "something that has a function?"

i just revread your post. I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't saying light bars are designed to be decorative. What I meant was people probably put them on most of the time for looks, not function. indeed they were designed to be functional though.

Just installed mine. Gonna put on the led bars another day. I may end up painting that area behind the bumper black so it looks cleaner
