Does stock stereo have rca jackets in the back?

looking to put in amp and subs into truck. need to noe if im gonna have to put in a new deck or if i can keep it stock

 

It does not come with RCA jacks.

You can run an amplifier on any head unit that does not come with RCA outputs.

Add-on amps required a low-level input, which the amplifier then boosts the signal and puts the power to your speakers.

Speaker outputs from your radio (wires that plug directly into your speakers from the back of the radio) are line-level and power the speakers directly. This is because the radio already has a build in amplifier.

You can't send line-level outputs from your radio into your amplifier. You'd kill your amp.

What you need is a line-level converter that takes your speaker wires down to a low-level input and has RCA jacks on it. Then you can run them to your amp. They are relatively inexpensive.

I have seen some older amplifiers that have an speaker wire input into them, and does it's low-level conversions within the amp. Not sure if that's common now a days.

Converting speaker wires to low-level amp inputs are ok, but I've never heard such a setup that sounded better than an aftermarket radio with proper amplifier outputs.

 

Good: Line Output Converter.
Better: Signal Processor like JL Audio CleanSweep or Rockford Fostgate 3 Sixty.2.
Best: Aftermarket headunit with a high output volt.

 

You'll be glad in the long run if you buy a new HU.
