That's not bad. 1" difference at the front crossmember isn't much. For some I'm sure that would make a difference but I haven't had any issues taking my Taco through the same stuff my buddy does with his 2.5-3" Bilstein lift on his Taco.

Actually only 5/8" difference when comparing 285/70R17 between the two lifts.

Many here make such a big deal about losing so much clearance with DB lifts. I see 5/8" as minimal. I've been able to do everything I've done with my previous truck without issues. In addition, I have a superior ride, more downward wheel travel, and more tire clearance. Comparing 3" vs 5" RCD, I'd go RCD with no regrets again and again. However, if you want do more aggressive wheeling or rock crawling, I'd look into mid or long travel. I can see where that added clearance and wheel travel would make a difference. It really comes down to what you use your truck for.

The blanket statement I keep seeing regurgitated here is 3" lifts are superior to DB lifts. I've owned both. From my experiences, I disagree. To each their own though. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
