I have been a Derek Weida fan for a while now too! I also rock a few Straight Legless T shirts, even as I am typing this!

Not a problem. I am actually in school to become a prosthetist and am fascinated with prosthetic technology. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of prosthetic and socket do you use? I'm an above-knee with a OttoBock X3 as my "daily driver".

I'm sorry to hear that. No prosthetic is very comfortable, but I know another gentleman like yourself that has had a tough time finding something that works for him. As human beings with an abundance of technology, we really haven't figured out a great way to attach things to ourselves. Shoes are one of the oldest technologies, and they still give us blisters!

I'm above-knee (trans femoral), but have a long residual limb as it was taken just above the knee.

Heath, Thank you for serving our country and most sincerely, I'm sorry you lost your leg serving us. You seem to be adjusting well... Keep it up, great attitude to have considering your loss.

How did your accident happen? I'm sorry to hear that.

Thank you for your service, Heath. It bears repeating. My little brother is currently overseas making me proud as hell. I get to talk to him every once in a while, but really I just can't wait for him to be home again hopefully in one piece. I missed my chance to serve and it is probably my only regret. Inspirational stories like yours are what makes me appreciate the sacrifices our young men and women make everyday.
    Cheers!
