I want to remove the rear seat backs from my 2012 DCLB, and don't have a clue how. These are the two 60/40's that fold down to make a platform.

Ya, I searched here and on the internet, but to no avail.

Can anyone help or point to a link with pics?

    Thanks.

Don't you just unbolt them at the base

Not sure. I didn't see a bolt on the hinge. I'll have to go back and check again.

Edit: Found the bolts under the carpet.

Now I need to know how to take out the headrest guides, or at least the plastic caps.

You want to remove the folding seat backs or the whole seat ?

I just want to remove the rear seat backs, not the butt portion. From what I see, there are three hinges bolted to the floor. I may need to take out the behind the seat plastic storage trays to access the rear bolt on the center hinge.

I am installing a set of CoverKing Ballistic seat covers and they are simply too tight to manipulate with the seats in the truck (and it's too cold outside (1*C) to work comfortably.

I managed to fit the rear seat bottoms on nice and tight, but I'm going to bring everything else in the house and finish them there. I'm going to do the rest of the install (rear backs, front passenger and driver seat) in the house.

I also need to know how to pop out the little plastic caps for the headrest slots so I can put the seat covers on, then reinstall the plastic caps over the holes in the covers for a clean finished look.
