I've had my BFG AT/KOs for about 50k miles now, and am looking to get new tires.

They are 235/85R16, and I absolutely love them. Great traction everywhere on and off road, and I love the size.

Problem is, that size only comes in load range E, which adds a lot of weight, which hurts my gas mileage.

Should I change the size? Should I pick a different tire?

That is totally up to you. I also am weight concerned and will not run a 50 + pound tire on a Tacoma. I am waiting for a load range C to come out in 265/70 or 265/75, hopefully they are around 45lbs max. I will then get some lighter aftermarket rims and be close to OEM weight for tire and wheel.

I'm thinking I might go with Cooper AT3s in 235/85R16. Should be better in snow and rain than my ATs and they weigh ten pounds less (43lbs).
