That is almost exactly where my noise comes from though on the drivers side. My minuscule window cracking trick may be slightly altering either the air pressure there or changing the rigidity of the door in that region. Thanks for a good idea to try the next time it happens. At least for me I don't need to bring my brother with me since it is the drivers side with the problem ;)

Confirmed on mine as well. We were just out on the highway and the noise was happening every few minutes. My (very patient) wife put her fingers on the soft foam door seal in the same spot - right where the plastic A-pillar trim stops and the headliner begins - and when the noise happened again she felt it vibrate. Exact same spot as Notoneiota calls out above. Now to figure out a fix...

I imagine anything that alters this part of the seal would fix it. I'm thinking about shooting some RTV into the seal with a syringe and large bore needle for a "stuffed crust pizza" result. I could also use FlexShot: https://www.getflexseal.com/index.dtm Fill it up a few inches in each direction then close the door and let it cure overnight. Would be invisible but would have to change the harmonics, correct? If this fails I might just try replacing the seal.

I also though about wiping some WD40 or silicone grease onto the seal, thinking that maybe the seal is rubbing the door jamb and causing the noise. Reduce the friction and you might get rid of the noise. Maybe I'll try this before the more invasive methods above. Thoughts?

This has to do with the Windshield, not the door seals. I have had it on both my 2011 and my 2013, and again after replacing the windshield. now i have to fight Toyota to REDO the TSB since the windshield was replaced...

Door seals suck, thats true, but playing with them will not CURE the problem. as mentioned in the article...

The repair is described below according to the T-SB:
    1. Verify the condition.
    2. Use masking tape to cover the windshield molding and drive vehicle to confirm the wind whistle noise is eliminated. If the noise is still heard, this TSB does not apply.
    3. Remove and reseal windshield following the service manual or sublet to a glass removal company.Note that the windshield molding will be damaged and will need to be replaced completely.
    4. Test drive the vehicle to verify the noise is gone.

We must have different problems then. Mine's a door seal issue.

You would have to search around for it, but there was a guy on here that used a weatherstripping rope to help tighten the door seals. Supposedly worked really well for road noise (his intended purpose). May work for you as well. Under $20 and installed in 15 minutes if memory serves me correctly.

I remember that thread. Didn't it look like absolute shit? If it's the same one I'm thinking of. I can imagine that helped a ton with noise, but not sure I could handle the appearance. It was pretty bad.

I have this noise on a 2014 TSS model. I would have to agree with Notoneiota regarding where the noise is coming from.
    1. Mine will show up on the passenger side, during a crosswind coming from the drivers side.
    2. Highway speed 65+
I will continue to monitor the reports. Going to try the DIY. Truck is under warranty for about 5k more miles. Open to potential remedies.

Exactly the same as mine. It was the PS door seal near the mirror.

My 2008 made no noise at all and my 2015 "had" that Kazoo sound in strong crosswinds but for some reason it went away, go figure.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Mine still does it...and only the passenger side when the wind is coming from the driver's side. Haven't heard it on the driver's side door. I too do the tap the window down a titch trick and it stops the noise. There is something about relieving the pressure of the glass pushing up in the top of the door frame that stops it. I kind of wonder if there is a way to tweak how far up the glass goes by adjusting the motor or something?

my howl was horrible. Wedge some weatherstrip from home depot in there and you are good to go!

Did you run the weatherstrip the full length of the upper/FWD portion of the door?

Cool, thank you. I've got some generic weatherstrip in the garage somewhere I'll try out. But first gonna try removing the antenna and seeing if that does anything since I don't use the radio anyways. Since it only makes the noise on the passenger side, the antenna is the only difference I can see?

In case you missed it. TSB on the wind noise (weatherstrip, FR 67861-04062). This item was on back order when taken to Dealer. When installed the door seal fixed my noise. I'm a happy camper. ;-)))))
