Hey guys, first post! I just bought a 2013 TRD Sport Access cab about 2 weeks ago and am looking to upgrade the stereo system in it I have never done a car system before. I have already ordered some RAAMat and plan on installing that in the upcoming weeks. I am also looking for some advice on what components to look for I have some picked out but as typical would like some input. I would like to keep the cost of just the hardware to around $1000

A little background I am in no way a hardcore audiophile currently at my computer station I’m rocking a Dayton set up, a 12” sub and 2 way books shelf running at about 250rms all together. I would like something in the truck that meets or exceeds this. I also understand that trucks and cars have a different sound stage so it might be a little bit different.

Moving on… I am looking at only doing a front stage and having a single 10” sub in the back while running around a totally of 800rms all together. Figure 250rms for the front components and 500rms for the sub. Head unit wise I am not to critical just as long as I can either stream music from my android phone or use a cable, their way would work, I would also like to still be able to use the steering wheel controls I believe a PAC SWI-RC will work for this.

    Anyways, on to hardware..

Head Unit: I am not super picky if anyone has something to suggest I am game

    Kenwood DDX372BT or a Pioneer AVH-X2800BS

Front Components: Been doing a little research I wouldn’t mind going passive 3 way component over a normal 2 way but again I am open to suggestions.

PPI P65c3 rated @ 125rms pre side, midrange would go in the stock tweeter location and the real tweeter would go in the A pillar plastic.

Rear Sub: Plan on using a sealed Subthump rear box it has a total of .95 cu.ft of space.

Alpine SWS-10D4 dual 4 ohm coils rated for 500rms.

Amps: I feel like I need to run a 2 amp set up. Was looking at Precision Power Black Ice BA800.2 for the fronts and Ion Series i650.1 for the sub. I feel like I am going to catch some shit for this but I would like to keep it all in my budget.

Wire: Im going to go with 0 Gauge from the battery with a circuit breaker to a block for increased head room in the future if I decide I want more power.

Go with the kenwood. Check around because the 372 was replaced by the 373 a and the 372's are on sale. Most will say components for the fronts. Not sure a 3 way will benefit you all that much. I did some 2 way 6x9s in the front and 2 way 6.5s in the rear doors and it sounds great. Left the stock tweeters even though they're worthless now.

those mids are pretty deep [41.65mm or 1.63"] for the upper door. you may need to make some room or mount them to the door panel to fit
