Replaced my old water pump for my shower with my new Christmas gift!
The old one has left me nekkid and covered in soap in the middle of camp too many times because it couldn't self prime. One air bubble and bam no more water.
Now it'll pull 9' of dry line up and cycles on and off for pressure.
Tomorrow I'm getting seat heaters wired into my RTT can't wait to get out camping

Just a bunch of old crap
I scored a 10,000mm rated waterproof Marmot jacket (clearance at REI in SLC because it was a 2014 model) early in 2015 and took it on one trip - a 3 day survival trip in which it rained for the entire duration. Jacket did great when at our base camp, but during the hikes in and out, the water seepage behind my pack pressed on the jacket and soaked right through. It was a bit of an extreme test for just a 10,000mm rated jacket though. I should have had something 30,000 or more to do it right.

2 nights on 3-Fingered Jack southwest ridge- back country snowshoeing and snow cave experiment:

always wanted to conduct an experiment to see how long it would take to excavate a snow cave with only a stick
the snow was well consolidated and the time to excavate a 6' cave with tiny vestibule for backpack was about 6.5 hours with numerous short breaks

Also, do you know Darren P? He and I went to high school and college together.

Shite mang - I don't work at Cascade anymore. I still know a few folks there and can see if they can get me some discount codes though.

I did know and work with DP while I was there - nice guy, we got along well.

Hey guys, I want to find maps (actual paper maps) with the trails or trailheads marked on them. the goal is for me and the woman to set them up in our "travel" room and be able to mark off/track where we've been and what we want to do. do any of yall have any resources for where to get something like this? the big foldable style maps are fine too, but im having trouble finding ones geared towards hiking/backpacking trails.

Of course, outdoor retailers (like REI) have great selections as well.

For some reason snow caves scare the shit out of me. It would suck if it just collapsed, I'd hate to wake up dead.
