I am New to Tacomaworld but glad to be apart of the group! I have a 2015 crew cab , TRD. I am experiencing a shuddering when acceleration moderately hard 0-15 mph, worse when starting on a hill. I have done my research and I know this a well known problem and they had a tsb up until last year . Dealer says this is normal. Just wondering if any other 2015 or 2016 owners are experiencing the same thing and any luck with dealer applying previous years tsb.

Have the same issue... Did the ECGS bushing on differential and carrier bearing drop kit, but it's still the same. It does however go away 90% in 4WD

Yes it does go away in 4wd, this is because the loading of the springs that is causing the u joints to go out of phase has somewhere to go. It's basically axle wrap. I am shocked toyota knows about this problem and simply does nothing about it. A lot of other vehicles have it , the two piece driveshaft doesn't help this problem.

My '13 did it bad and I had the TSB done. With my '13 it was a combination of drive line vibration and axle wrap. It took an add-a-leaf and axle shim to re-angle the axle and stiffen the leaf pack to remedy the combination. That sucks if there really is no TSB for the newer second gens. Good luck!

My 14 does this from a hard launch. I just thought it was all the traction bs working. Ever thought about the weak springs being issues.

I have yet to haul anything heavy , but I'm thinking it goes away when you make the springs flatten a little bit , making it harder for the axle wrap to happen. I think this issue can relate to the driveline angle , but also a combination of a light rear end and a lot of torque. If you spin the tires , I've noticed it go away also. Overall , it's not good for the vehicle to be hammering down on it all the time , this is just a major annoyance .

I have a 2015 and the tsb ends at 2014 models. Dealer said I have to wait until a new tsb comes out if at all. Bs if you ask me.

How about for the 2015? I also have a progressive AAL I wonder if the dealer will make a big deal about that..

completely fixed mine. I can mat it at any speed and no vibes

prior to the 15-25mph vibe TSB, it would vibrate so much at 15mph I'd get wheel hopping when matting it. nasty

My 2013 has it bad and my stock springs are already pretty flat. I'm lifting it soon with Dakar leafs so I'm not doing anything about it until the lift is done. If the problem is still there, which I'm sure it will be, then I'll work on fixing it.

Let me know how much the OME Dakars lift your truck and if you still have the issue, I'm thinking it's the leaf pack that is causing the shuddering.

How much lift do they provide assuming you have have a DCSB with no weight/no cap?

Dakar states 2.75". They should settle some too. From all the research I've seen the settle is anywhere from a quarter to half an inch.

traction bars will tame "axle wrap" as will a helper spring forward of the axle, close to the front spring eye, where the spring tends to "warp" under moderate to hard acceleration, changing pinion angles significantly. Probably why changing spring packs assists with driveline shudder. Lots of threads dealing with this on other enthusiasts forums.

It seems like prior to 2015 , which the tab covers , the vibration was much worse. A little vibration I would say is normal , but this is definetly not . I put two 50 lb sand bags int he back right above the axle and it actually helped a lot , making it not that sensitive.the vibration still exists but it reduced it a lot . Hard to notice any sag either because it's only 100lb. Redneck way around it , but if it's that annoying , it's a cheap ass semi- fix for something that's just an annoyance and not a mechanical problem . If it did it all the time under any acceleation that would be a red flag. This vibration is inevitable and newer f-150's have it bad also , that's coming from a dealer mechanic . My dad runs vehicle maintenance at a city bus service and believe it or not , they had a brand new fleet of busses have a factory recall for the same problem and they had to push to get it fixed , manufacture said it was normal.

My 2015 has about 6,000 miles and does the same thing. All stock suspension/wheels/tires.
