In short, yes. I would recommend new uca's if the setting is higher than 1.75. If I'm remembering what I've read on here correctly.

I don't need much lift but if I put them on 1.5 inches in should be good?

I believe the settings are as follows. 0", .85", 1.75" and 2.5". Mine are set at 1.75 and are within acceptable numbers once I had an alignment done.

For first gen Tacoma's they're different settings, and I'm not aware offhand what they are.

I was thinking they might be different. If they are 1.5 then yes OP they should be fine with stock suspension components.

Just did the 5100's with stock coils on a first gen. There were only 3 grooves for the snap ring on the shock body. Got the shocks from DSM, the part numbers match the ones in the following thread.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/1st-gen-bilstein-5100-part-numbers.105166/

Not absolutely sure about heights for different settings but they went something like 0", 1.5", 2.25". The middle setting leveled my stock truck. I haven't gotten an alignment yet but I am almost positive there won't be any trouble.
