Hey all, new to the forum here. Looking at upgrading from a 4 door sedan to a mid size truck and I like the 2nd gen offering from Toyota.

From my research a double cab, v6 automatic would fit the bill, and the specs say a 5 ft box would fit in my garage (big winter bonus here in Ontario), but I can't seem to find any used in Autotrader, etc. Was this configuration available in Canada?

Any help clarifying this would be really appreciated.

    Nope

DCSB Tacomas in Canada are all standards unless somebody brought one in that was purchased in the US

Also, the Offroad ONLY comes as an access cab. Which is why sport sales are so huge in Canada. These rules still apply to 3rd generation.

Double cab auto = long box
Double cab manual = short box.
access cab auto or manual = long box.

So you either have to deal with manual, or buy an access cab like I did.

OR buy from the states and suffer the conversion rate.

I didnt say it would be cheap. I just said he could do it. Sometimes people want what they want and a 30% price difference wont deter them.
