Happy New Year! Back in October I finally got my Tacoma. It's a 2013 regular cab 4x4 and I couldn't be any more happier. I bought it from a dealer down in SoCal and drove it up. It finally hit 30K miles and its time for the factory schedule maintenance. The thing is I do not have the tools or time or the space to perform the maintenance myself. So I was wondering if anyone could provide a great mechanic shop or a dealership I can get the maintenance done at? I live in the East Bay so I would prefer to go local but I wouldn't mind driving down to San Jose or the peninsula. I was thinking of going to One Toyota in Oakland as they somewhat have the best review on yelp. But if anyone could recommend a better dealership for service or a mechanic shop, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for you guys time!

Its just changing the engine oil, differential oil and spark plugs. Takes about an hour and about $100 to do yourself or about $400-$600 at the dealership.

You don't need a lot of space for these easy jobs. Best part is the money you save will pay for your tools.

    Just my 2 cents.

Or just go to any dealer or shop. This is easy work.

I take mine to Hagin's Automotive in Martinez. They've always provided me great service, they specialize in Toyotas (though they work on every make I believe), and the owner has a sick FJ40 on 37s with a V8 swap lol

I have all my work done at Automotivated in Hayward (http://www.automotivatedrepair.com/v3/). They're basically across the street from K-Mart at Harder Road and Mission Blvd. I've known the owners for over 25 years now and trust them with all of my cars.

Not sure what the 30k will cost you with them but definitely give them a call. Not sure it'll help but let them know Rob Santillano referred you.

    Stuff
Fluids, Filters and Spark plugs with a looksee at wear items(TRE, CV boots, Ball joints, etc.). If you have your own tools, this could be a nice little 2 beer job...

If you aren't equipped or inclined, I would recommend my Friend who owns Toy Auto Clinic in Redwood City. Good man, clean shop and a master certified Toyota Technician.

Hey guys, sorry I have been busy with work so I hadn't had a chance to check back on this. I want to thank you all for the responses. I appreciate it.

As far as doing the work myself, I don't really have the time or tools. I am flying out back east next week so I am going to just schedule something and have my girlfriend take it in while I am out.

    Thanks again guys.

Ahh I was gonna say, just come over my place in Newark and we can bust it out and learn a thing or two about your truck.

But if time isn't on your side, I get it. Good luck!

I work in service department at Livermore Toyota. I can vouch for good work being done in our shop.
30k is the most minor of "major services". Most places will charge $250-$350 for a 30k. As said above, fluids, plugs and inspection for the most part.
