I'm coming off 2 4Runners which were all bulletproof. Drove them almost 10 years each. Plus my wife has a 2013 4Runner, which I didn't like, but got new respect for since getting my truck. If I know for a fact that it's normal I'll learn to live with it, just this is the first issue of this kind in my 20+ years of Toyota ownership.

One can never have too many light bars.
Mine does the same thing. I'm pretty sure its just the ABS. If the rotors were warped it would pulsate when braking no matter what.

To those who said rear drums: You win the internet.

Issue was resolved today. Yesterday I took the truck to the scum-sucking dickface dealer near my house for the second time, this time with clear written request/instructions to check the run-out on REAR DRUMS and resurface if necessary. The scum-sucking dickface service manager erased my comments and wrote "Customer complaining about vibration". Technician resurfaced FRONT ROTORS, juding by results, with an old butter knife. I caught up with him outside after his test drive before he could talk to SSD sservice manager and asked him if he resurfaced the rear drums. The scum-sucking dickface technician told me "Nah, rear drum brakes never warp on these trucks, they are so huge that it is impossible." They refused to do anything further. After a brief verbal altercation with them, I left. Plan to call Toyota later on, tell them to make sure to deny the warranty claim on this repair. $307 billed to Toyota, I want to make sure dealer gets stuck with this bill.

Went straight to my old mechanic, paid $50 out of pocket to have the rears resurfaced. Rides like a Cadillac, although he expressed concern about the quality of front end resurfacing. I finally don't feel any vibration anywhere anymore, so I feel that it's a win. I will continue to repost my Google review of this dealer (Towne Toyota in Ledgewood, NJ) to every site and social media page that has to do with Toyota.

They probably will, it has been my experience with Toyota trucks before. Just not after a 1000 miles. Either way - I already have aftermarket rotors and drums coming. If this reoccurs, I'm just going to swap everything out myself. Once I switched to aftermarket stuff on my 4Runner I stopped having issues.

The vibration came back. I took it to a different dealer who replaced ALL brakes and rotors/drums. This did fix the front brake (steering wheel shake) issue that the last dealer introduced, but the rear still vibrates. Taking it back to the last dealer to have them start looking beyond brakes.

Could it be out-of-balance rear wheels? I *think* I feel a little shake in the same speed range when not braking. I am asking because it would be easier for me to just take the rear wheels off and take it to a local tire shop to re-balance before spending hours driving back and forth to the dealer.

Yes the wheels could need to be balanced IMHO. Or tire/s can have uneven out of round rubber. I have had vibration issues on different trucks both caused by these two issues. The balancing fixed one truck and made it worse on another truck because a tire was worn unevenly. Look at the tires closely for uneven wear. Get them balanced too rule it out.

ABS, they are light in the back end hard breaking will cause the ABS to do it's thing to keep the rear wheels from locking.

If one doesn't hit the Rev limiter and trigger the ABS on your commute to work, you aren't doing it right...
