ok guy and gals. New to this and my 2015 tacoma but I see that people are stating tsbs. Where do you go to look these up? Also, how do you know if there are any for your vehicle or yr? Can you just go into a dealership and just request them to do or look into any of them for your truck? Do you just have to constantly be looking to see if there is anything new out? I know that this is not a recall. Any help on these questions or insight on the best way to take care or potentially protect your truck by looking out for these things would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

My experience with TSBs had been that the dealer's service writers either don't know about all the TSBs for all their vehicles or they purposefully play dumb. And Toyota doesn't really want you to have the things. The good news is that the manufacturers are required to report all TSBs to the government. Go to http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchSafetyIssues and enter your vehicle information. On the results page click the service bulletin tab to see all the TSBs that may apply to your model year. Unfortunately all you will get there is an abbreviated description but that is usually enough to have an idea if you might be covered. From there you will need to use Google and see if anyone has posted a full PDF version of the document some place like here at Tacomaworld. I was able to find all the TSBs I needed that way. If that doesnt work I think you can pay the one time $15 fee to TIS and download the full TSB doc. While you are there grab all the model specific TSBs and a complete service manual. When you go to the dealer make sure you have a hard copy of the full TSB in your pocket. Ive given the number to a service writer and they still looked me in the eye and said it either didn't exist or didn't apply. Showing them the TSB and exactly how it did apply worked like magic.

if there is anything safety related it would normally be a recall based on VIN #. as for tsb's if you aren't having any issues with your truck then there is likely nothing that you will need done. tsb's are typical of frequent repairs that become known issues then become tsb's. i would venture to say dealer service ppl don't know much about them or they play dumb. also the service ppl usually aren't techs, some are former techs but i'd say very very few so they really just don't know whats going on most of the time.

I had two TSBs done to my current truck ava tried to get a third. The first was to fix the squeaky blower fan. They took care of that one no questions asked. The second was to replace the weak rear leaf springs. They played dumb, then claimed the TSB didn't apply, then tried to sell me air bags. I finally had to walk the service writer through a hard copy TSB to get their attention. The last one was the windshield kazoo noise in high winds due to a poor seal. Same thing...they said there was no TSB, then that it didn't apply, then that their own tech would have to reproduce the problem. That was in spite of showing them two videos with sound locating the problem area and making it stop by pushing on the windshield. How many days are there with 40 MPH winds when a guy can drop everything so a tech can drive it on the freeway at 75 mph? That one never got taken care of before my warranty expired. Well played Toyota, well played.
