hey guys and girls, I'm looking to run 255/85/16 cooper stt maxx tires, I am running a 3 inch on a TRD off road DCSB. What I am wondering is if I would have to do the cab mount chop to run and off road with these tires? I am keeping my wheels as is, 01-05 6 spoke sequoia wheels.

    Currently running 265/70/16
    Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure pizza cutters fit with minimal plastic trimming on a 3" lift... but it varies so wildly I notice with all the different options available. I'm a fan of doing things once So I went full retard on my cmc

    Depends on wheel offset.

*just noticed the wheels in your post. You won't need a cmc. You may need very minimal plastic triming. It will also VERY slightly rub frame rail and LCA on full lock droop/bump. You wont even notice the frame and LCA rub unless you look at the dirt rubbed off after wheeling. Its very light.

I run those same wheels with stmaxx 255/85/16.

Yeah I'm just running older 01-05 sequoia wheels, different and unique. How do you like the st maxx? Those are what I'm looking at running. All the reviews I've read seem to be way positive and everyone loves them. Hopefully getting them on Monday!

Fantastic tire. Great traction. Holds up to rough terrain well. I ditched a set of Hankook dynapro ATMs after two flats in a row on rougher terrain.

Shockingly quiet for how aggressive the tread is on an all terrain tire.

Awesome, I'm so stoked to get them. I've weighed all my options with an AT tire and finally decided on these. Super excited

Nice! I'm looking at the Cooper ST Maxx right now as well. Though it was suggested to me to go 285/75/16 for the 33" size. In my case if I go 285 I'll apparently have to do the CMC.

I'm running 265/70/16 Michelin M/S 2's right now and like the wide look of them. :)

If you get a chance to drive on some ice or deep snow I'd love to hear how you like these Cooper Maxx's!

Hey guys hope you can help me out. I have a 2016 DCLB TRD offroad arriving in a week. I purchased a 2016 OME 2 inch lift in the medium load. I want to get the 255/80/17 Cooper STT MAXX's with method NV 8.5 inch wheels. Prior to the lift can they fit? After the lift should I have any issues? The place I am taking to get the lift said to stick with my stock UCA's for some reason.

You should be okay. You'll experience some rubbing, so get the lift on ASAP. In a way, it's better to do the tires first. Just trim anything that rubs (except the UCAs) - that way you won't experience any rubbing after the lift! You should be good with stock UCAs, but some LR UCAs would allow you to adjust for better caster. I've been on 2.5" lift with stock UCAs for 30K miles. Anything wider than 255 caused some road wander, and 265 on offset rims was kinda squirrely. I'm doing the UCAs in a month or so when I revamp my front end. SPC LR UCAs will allow your suspension to articulate more - not just provide caster adjustment -and I think they're lower profile, so I anticipate not rubbing them.

Did they end up fitting before the lift?

Ended up going with 275/70/17. Sorry wish I could help! Would love to switch though eventually to that size tire.

I'm confused do you have a picture of the wheels? I have frst gen Tundra wheels off a '04 Tundra I believe are the same wheels bt they're 17" wheels. I have 255/80/17 Cooper stmaxx on mine and ran thm for a few weeks on stock suspension with only minimal rubbing stock.

EDIT: never mind i saw the later post

Just mounted up a set of 255/80r17 on some ray 10s. Little bit of plastic work, but, no cmc needed for DD. It will have to go for more serious off roading though.
