Since my '06 Tacoma 4X4 double cab turned 100k few months ago, somebody suggested in the forum to change the whole leaf spring. I have never hauled heavy loads since I bought it in '06 so I'm not kind of worried about the leaf spring but instead I'll just add a leaf. Right now it measures 36" from the ground on both sides, adding a leaf will make it 38" high. The front measures 34" and if I decide to put belstein 5100, will I be able to at least level it the same height as rear (38")? Or just leave leaf spring alone and add belstein 5100 to level it?

    Thank you for your help!

i would like to know the answer to this as well. I need new shocks in the back and trying to figure out what i want to do. Just get the stock shocks again or lift it a bit. And was thinking of adding a leaf too

AAL on decade-old leaf springs are still going to sag after a few months, whether or not you have hauled heavy loads in the back. They're just old leaf springs. Any lift will likely dissipate pretty shortly thereafter. I'd recommend going full packs in the rear if you're looking to lift it.

A cheap(er) and easy upgrade from a full leaf pack is to buy some OEM leaf packs taken off of someone with a newer truck.

It isn't hard to find new OEM packs on here for $200 with only a few thousand miles (and often less).

Even if you never hauled, 100k is a lot of miles on that old suspension. You could replace the entire front and rear suspension this way, and probably spend less than $400 for everything. Your front end needs some attention too.
