On my 2015, there is a sticker on each front window that says something like "This vehicle is equipped with Toyota security blah blah".

If you did your window tint DIY or thru a pro, is that sticker still there? I'm thinking about buying some pre cut tint off eBay and doing it myself, but wasn't sure if I should remove the sticker.

A pro will remove any stickers before applying the tint. With that said if you've never tinted before I would pay someone to do it, it can get tricky.

X2. Ahhh I can't count how many times I have had to peel off tint that bubbled and turned blue and curled at the corners b/c people wanted to save a few bucks.

I recommend taking it to a shop - it's not too horribly expensive.

    As stated above....

Don't waste time/money trying to tint windows unless you do it for a living. It ain't worth the grief you'll bring to yourself.

It's usually around $100 for a pair of side windows. Some places I've seen is high as $150.
And I'd only pay that if they were the only shop around.
My guy is $100 Pair or $275 for all 5 windows. He uses high quality film and would warranty any problems I'd have. Although I've never had any with him.

Depends on how many windows. (just front 2 doors, or 4 doors back glass and sun strip) also depends on what kinda tint. to get a more exact price i’d call a tint shop tell them what truck you have and what you want done and they should give you a quote.

I for get what my truck was because my brother had it done for me as a birthday gift. I had got all 4 doors back glass and a sun strip on windshield. also may have to look at NY laws i think they maybe kinda strict on that stuff.(at least thats what i have been told from relatives)

I removed mine myself. I'm not a sticker person. And I've never tinted my windshield, but that's just me. Mostly because it's the area that needs the most cleaning, and more cleaning means more risk of damage to any tint.

Thanks for the replies all. I can get the two fronts for $30 shipped and I already have the equipment to do it myself.

Even the cheapest shop wants to charge $100 so I'd rather try myself and see how it goes. I've tinted my last vehicles with no problems so I don't see the two fronts on the Tacoma being a problem.

I own a professional tinting shop in Northern IL called Fire Guys Tinting. Ordering tint on line is very risky, does it come with a warranty, is it going to discolor in 3 months? Regardless if you install it perfectly, cheap tint will usually fail within a few months.
If your hell bent on installing it yourself, go to a reputable tint shop and have them cut film off the computer program. This way you will eliminate some headaches and have a perfectly sized piece & known good film.
If that fails, pm me and I will pre cut the tint for you. I use Llumar film. It is a higher end film with a Lifetime warranty.
    Good luck

I paid 100 cash for the two fronts. Matched the back. Looks great. Definitely have a pro do it. They will cut you a break if you pay cash. If you diy, send pics!

He is in the Milwaukee area. Near McLoughlin he is mobile. No store front. Has his garage set up like a clean room lighted tables etc. He also runs around mobile and does it for body shops and such.
Between my friends and I I know of at least a dozen vehicles he had done and we all swear by him.
