If I was a single guy, I'd have gotten an access cab anyway... its nice for in-the-cab storage of items. As a guy who is engaged with a step son, a double cab is where it's at.

I test drove a blue DCSB trd sport in automatic, and it was nice, but I didn't like the frequent shifts between 5th and 6th on the highway. I also didn't like the downshift delay if I wanted to pass. With the MT, I can downshift from 6th to 4th in the blink of an eye if I feel compelled to haul some ass.

If you were a single guy, you would have been hard-pressed to find an AC with a MT, at least in the OR. That's the choice I faced coming from 2 previous TRDACs with MT. I just didn't want or need the DC, most do.

you can't get an AC in MT. I was simply speaking theoretically.

In theory, if I were single, I would not need a DC and would have gotten an AC. But I leased my 3rd gen. Residual value for the MT was higher than with an AT, ironically.

You beat me to it. I was going to say the exact same thing. Manual transmission sucks in traffic even though I'd prefer stick. It also gave me an excuse to get the TRD Off-Road. ;)

With a DC, I've never wished I had less interior space. I'm sure a few AC owners have wished for more interior space one time or another.

Went with the DC for more interior space. AT's get better mileage overall and is the most popular transmission choice for those who use their trucks in traffic. Toyota will make what they can sell. I would suggest those on this forum do not represent the average Tacoma buyer which may reflect the love for the MT.
