Does this look like a good deal?

This caught my eye at a used dealer lot

My main concern is the quality of the lift and if it causes premature wear on suspension parts, the details say they recently put a grand into new ball joints, tie rods and stuff. The ad also says it's a rough county lift but no other info on it. This would be my daily driver and I don't want something that is gonna need stuff replaced due to added wear and tear.

 

Looks like someone did some mods to it....Icon rear piggys, skids. You have everything you need to start, but the UCAs are factory and for those size tires/wheel and lift it will become an alignment issue. It's a clean looking FJ for sure. Looks like an AGM battery too. I personally think it should be a $2-3k lower, but I really haven't checked the latest pricing trend. My personal opinion is....if you buy it....get rid of the wheels and tires and get something more realistic for both off road and regular driving. If you are using for Daily driving....I would only be concerned about wear and tear due to alignment (UCA). Just an opinion.

ps. $1k in new rods and ball joints is probably labor cost. You can do that in your driveway!

 

get some upper control arms, ditch those rims and tires, snag a pair of 35 inch bfg's and some stock rims, call it a day.

 

I would make them do this before I drove off the lot..holy shit those rims are hideous

 

Pretty sure that FJ has a 6" drop bracket lift on it, if you zoom in you can see the 6" coil spacers and the drop bracket. Technically speaking you would not need UCA's or have any alignment issues as that is the whole point of a drop bracket lift, it lifts the truck by lowering the LCA 6" and maintains OE alignment easily. Just read up on drop bracket lifts and decide if it is the right thing for you or not.
