My first Toyota, a 2014 Tacoma Double Cab TRD. Love it. Came from the Land Rover world where I spent a lot of money on upgrades and even more money on repairs. Oregonian that spends a lot of time outdoors, camping, hiking, skiing, motorcycles. Not a rock climber or serious off roader so to speak but want to set up my Tacoma for getting to the back country. Had a well accessorized Land Rover Discovery for 11 years.

I am hoping someone can direct me to a thread first about leveling, lift kits, etc.. I have already potentially gone about it the wrong way without consulting the wisdom of folks and wealth of info here.

I had a Tuff Country lift installed by Les Schwab. Got impatient trying to find a local shop that does that type of work. The lift was just spacers in the front coils and an extra leaf in the rear for 2.5-3 inches. Then had new Toyo A/T LT265/75R16's put on stock wheels. Actually a size smaller than I wanted but when test fitted they rubbed on the coil. Which was surprising. Anyway, I'm thinking the lift is too tall (call me crazy) without any improved performance. So actually considering removing it and installing Old Man Emu front coils and shocks all the way around. Still get a little lift for the tires but improved performance and can mount a bumper/winch.

So looking for a thread that might give me some ideas. Thanks to any who take the time to read this.

Welcome to TW. There's so much to learn here. Take your time. 99.9% of people on here avoid spacers like its a plague. Lifting comes down to how much money you want to spend.
