    Hi,
I hope you folks can help me out. I was going to buy a 2013 3rd member 3.73 gears from salvage yard, but I got these pictures from them. I didn't know it comes with LSD. First do the V6 with 3.73 even come with LSD and second is it for the 8.4" rear axle? This doesn't have a locker that I know, but I wasn't aware the newer models come with LSD. I want to make sure I'm buying the right 3rd member and they didn't make a mistake. Also 3.73 gears have 41 teeth right? I want to count when I get there so I know I am getting the right one. What year/version Tacoma comes with LSD that come with 3.73 gears?

I would consider this or a 3.58 gears if I can buy one....appreciate the help. Thanks!

Definetely open diff. IF you need MEchanical LSD buy one from 2005-2008 Truck with LSD, if you find one add set of clutch packs before you install it in the truck. They do wear, but you can install extar set on each side and LSD will be like new.

2009 and up come with the electronic LSD using the brakes. The open diffs are stronger then the E lockers that came factory with these trucks. If you are doing this to a 2009 + truck you will need to reprogram the traction control and speedo if changing the gear ratios to do it right.

Thanks for all the help guys... My regular cab with 3.31 gears...I thought maybe 3.73 gears may be too high and ruin my MPG. So now I'm looking into 3.58 gears. My new tires will be 28.18" diameter.
