I'm headed to Big Bend tomorrow with the wife, spending the night in Marfa, then into the park on Christmas. Looks like a long time on I-20.

Anything y'all recommend at the park, or on the way?

It sounds nerdy, but go to McDonald Observatory. I promise you'll be glad you did.

Actually, we're still here. Battled one heck of a snowfall the second day, but it's been an awesome trip. We'll probably leave Thursday, before we get more snow.

Glad the cap is working for you!

I hiked to the window, then emory peak and the south rim. We also drove Chimneys Trail to Santa Elena Canyon, and the all the way along the river trails to the Hot Springs, then out through Panther Junction. Every part was great, so much wildlife. We had a very odd May 1st cold front blow through and made for some unreal south rim waterfalls and flash flood rivers all over the trails. DHS checkpoints are to be expected on the highways heading north. They were there when I went. Good luck on the road.

Wish I had seen this! We were there Saturday for the snow as well in my black 4Runner.
