Not totally sure. I purchased it through GoProb directly so I'm sure they had some sort of factory warranty.

Does anyone know where I can buy the camera body (clear plastic shell) that has the camera closure on the "bottom". My camera, once mounted, is upside-down due to the orientation of the "3 hoop" connector and the slide mount. Or, maybe I'm "doing it wrong"?

The camera has a setting for shooting "upside down". The image is flipped to "right side up" when shooting if mounted that way.

    Check the GoPro manual.

There's a auto setting as well. My GoPro automatic changes depending on position.

I just purchased a Sony Action Cam, the HDR AS20 model, refurbished for under $100 on Amazon. I got a $10 adapter to make it compatible with GoPro mounts. If you're feeling budget conscious you might want to check it out. It'll do 1080p/60fps and 720p/120fps. Similar in performance to the Hero 3 Silver. Save a few bucks, and it has built in image stability. I ride motorcycles and thought having the image stabilization might be pretty nifty. Plus I'm not about spending $250 bucks on a camera I could lose or break. The youtube vids comparing it to other cameras sold me on it.

I'm new to this whole video thing and I managed to upload a video to youtube of my first run with it, today. It's not a terribly accurate representation, as it seems the footage imported directly from the camera and played on my PC is better quality than what youtube turned it into, but maybe this will give you some sort of idea of what to expect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAIPkEirPE0

I really want a GoPro for this. I love the idea.

I have a Contour (a now-defunct GoPro competitor). I mounted it on my mtb. Rode a bunch of trails with a buddy. Rode a bunch of (road) cobbles in France even. I took it to the velodrome and made a bunch of videos on the track. I even edited and uploaded a few. But then I never really watched them. Except the velodrome ones a few times. Quality definitely wasn't what you see in GoPro commericials though. OTOH, neither was the lighting. Am I going to watch myself "wheel" a few lame fire-roads? Probably not.

So, I want one, but I am torn. :rain:
