I have an 03 Camry LE v-6 that is experiencing a strange skipping sensation while driving/turning at low speeds. The power steering pump also makes a quick chirp. I had assumed that the pump is failing but a few google searches also throw me in the direction of a possible steering shaft bearing issue? Just trying to get a few opinions before I drop $100 on a new pump that I don't need.

For future reference, I replaced the power steering pump and this resolved the issue.
