12 days old and at a complete stop for deer to cross in front, one spooks and runs into the front drivers side of the truck. Everyone was fine. But damnit! 12 days old!

Oh Deer! That sucks! I guess the deer in the headlights wasn't taught to the deer.

    Glad everyone is alright.

Hopefully damage is not too serious as deer usually don't have insursnce. Your truck is now christened, and you don't have to worry about that first ding.

I had 6300 miles on mine when I got a nice BLUE door ding across passenger side of my new Super White Taco.

    :annoyed:

I had 2 of them run into a 91 Ford Ranger I used to have. I was going 55 mph. One of them nose took out my headlight and I bet he starved to death from a broken jaw. The 2nd one was a few steps behind the 1st deer and ran into my drivers side door. It did not break the window just caved the door in 8 inches. I turned around at the next side road and was only 3 miles from the Sheriffs dept. so I headed back to town to report it. On my way back the deer that ran into my door was laying on the highways center line. I pulled up next to her and opened my door to look because I was going to pick her up after I left the Sheriffs dept. Wished I would of cut her throat because when the deputy went to see if the deer was a road hazard the deer was gone. Deer have a strong will to live no doubt.

Anyway Peto.. I know how you feel brother. I had that truck repaired to near new condition. I never felt the same about my little Ranger knowing she was damaged.

Must have been BAM-bi. (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)
Hope it's not TOO expensive to get fixed...

I had a deer broadside into the passenger side of a Freightliner Century I was driving. It tore the side step OFF the fuel tank on that side, ripped the quarter fender off, and bent the mudflap hanger on that side as well! Luckily it didn't put a hole in the fuel tank.

I was waiting for some bad deer puns, surprising with the crew on here that there haven't been more . Just gotta pay my deductible which still is no fun.

They have any trouble getting parts in a timely fashion?

    Did you say Horse power?
I've been driving the same road for 22 years and have many close calls. The week between Christmas and New Years one finally got me. A 250 pound buck literally jumped into the truck from the opposite side of the road. At 35 mph (hair pin corner right after impact site) he took out the drivers side headlight, bumper, fog, fender, door and rocker panel. Auto body estimate $4,782.

I was thinking of a plate bumper but the OEM bumper part is only $200 or so.

It happens. Could have been a lot worse- I've seen roll overs when other try to avoid a deer. Glad you are OK.

I bet a 2016 front bumper will be pricey. Have the insurance company cut you the check for the bumper and you can buy a nice plate bumper and have some cash in pocket. This is exactly what I did with my first Gen. Plate bumper and 100 dollars left over to spend on lights.

I almost hit a deer the other day in my 16 and I was kinda disappointed when I missed. :anonymous:

Could have been another driver thinking like you and wanted a free meal. I would have slit it's throat and thrown it in the bed of the truck going back to the station.

Yeah I thought about that to. It was pouring down rain so I figured no one would stop and pick it up. Could of just been knocked out and came to then walked away.
